HOW DOES LASER REJUVINATION WORK?
The pulse (duration) and energy level of the laser are adjusted to smooth out the top collagen layers (which consists of tiny mountains and valleys), thus removing external wrinkles. At the same time, the laser stimulates the fibroblasts (collagen producing cells) directly under the skin to make new collagen, thus increasing the thickness of the collagen layer. The result is a firmer, thicker, more vibrant, younger appearing skin.
Removal/ Improvement of blemishes, redness, rosacea, capillaries, birthmarks and acne- The pulse (duration) and energy level of the laser are adjusted to destroy the target of interest. For example, the laser can be fine tuned to identify and destroy or remove capillaries (tiny blood vessels or lines) or brown spots with minimal damage to surrounding healthy skin.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED? Common areas of hair removal include underarms, chest, back, legs and bikini lines, but virtually any area can be treated.

The Lyra/Aura combination consists of 2 physically separate lasers. Both have cooling systems for the patient to minimize discomfort and injury, thus allowing for intense treatment to the areas of interest. All treatments are customized to A Lyra laser pennot only an individual's skin type, but also to what is present on the skin. Because of the complexity and uniqueness of every person's face, the treatments in this institute are always performed by a physician.
Both lasers have been approved by the FDA.
The lasers used by this clinic are true lasers, not "INTENSE" light. Comparing "intense light therapy" to a laser is like comparing a intensity of a flashligh on a wall versus a laser pointer on a wall. Which do you think is more focused (and thus delivered more energy) ?--- a flashlight pointing at a wall or a laser pen pointing at a wall. If you have chosen the laser, you are correct. FYI: Although Thermage has received publicity, further studies have been unable to confirm the claims made by this technology.
WHAT CAN THE DUO LASER SYSTEM TREAT?
Many lasers can not safely be used on tanning patients or on all skin types. Both lasers can be used on all skin types. The Lyra is used for the treatment of collagen restoration and improvement of skin texture, firmness and fine lines and wrinkles. The Aura is used for the treatment of redness, rosacea, broken capillaries (red, blue, purple), brown A Lyra laser machinespots, acne and birth marks. They can also be used separately (i.e. if a person is only interested in removal of capillaries or acne treatment) or in combination.
Many of those who have not been satisfied with treatments by other laser systems come and are surprised at the results obtained by the customized treatments.
IS IT WIDELY RECOGNIZED ?
As the growth of laser resurfacing and photo rejuvenation of the face and other body areas increase, so have the use of the Lyra and Aura. Many of today's prominent plastic surgeons and surgical dermatologists are using the lasers because of their proven track record of superior results and excellent safety profiles.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY ?
The most important factor to consider is the operator behind the laser. Our doctor has developed unique techniques to provide not only the safest and most gentle treatments, but also the most effective. Treatment of any facial condition mentioned above may required as little as 1 treatment, but the average number to achieve desired results are a minimum of two to three treatments.
A few of our patients have walk in literally less than 1 week prior to their weddings for treatments with very satisfying results (This means that 1 treatment was all it took without any significant side effects). Naturally, not everyone should expect such benefits, but many of your expectations may be exceeded after one treatment. You will be informed about the likelihood of achieving instantaneous and visibly noticable results after one treatment.
The results are progressive, meaning the improvements build up on top of one another. For skin with chronic, severe and/or multiple problems, usually 5 to 8 treatments are required, spaced 4-8 weeks apart.
Maintenance therapy may be required due to sun exposue and the effects of natural aging. Ask for special price packages for skin maintenance. Treatments intervals may vary from every three months to once a year.
